This show is inspired by the act of creation through accumulation. “Bodies” are made by natural growth and decay, by unintentional habits or intentional rituals, by obsessive collecting or repetitive action, bodies of flesh and bone, art and action, sovereignty and solace. The accumulation of many into one. As proof of our collective power and our private passage. As proof we were here.

Sonja Peterson’s Tear Bottles filled our central table with 107 bottles of sizes from 1/2” tall to 12”. The shear quantity and variety of vessels spoke to all the times and intensities of tears in our lives. A community of emotions.

Eve Cohen’s entities made from leather gloves and trimmings.

Deborah Walker’s waxed paper medallions woven into scarf and curtain, shawl and cap shapes.

John Schmitz’s ritualistic collections of natural and human crafted found objects come together in a shamanistic gathering. An homage to the holiness of our natural world.

Marking: 1000 days of one watercolor a day, 1000 days before my 60th birthday.
